A good article in today's New York Times discusses Fred's courting of the gun rights conservatives. Is it just me, or did the NRA-type of folks hit their peak 10 years ago? With all going on in this country and in the world, this speaks to me as a waste of time on Fred's part.
Full disclosure: I'm a southerner, I lean to the right, I'm in my 40's and I don't hunt or feel the need to own a gun. That being said, I think individuals in this country have the right to own firearms.
Given the time and place, I don't see this as an issue at all. Are there really that many people who 1) base their vote on gun rights and 2) who feel that anyone is serious about taking away their guns?
